"Tsaki is the first VDA licensed and largest AdBlue® manufacturer in Bulgaria. What is the product and how did you start its production?
AdBlue® is the trademark of "Aqueous Urea/AUS32 Solution", which is used as an agent to reduce NOx emissions from diesel engines through a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system. Only companies licensed by the German Association of Automobile Manufacturers may produce and use the trademark.
How have you developed the market since 2009?
Over the last 15 years, the importance of the product has grown significantly. Consumption has increased manifold and our task has become increasingly complex and responsible. Alongside production, we have had to develop many complementary activities - transport, logistics, carrying out licensed laboratory analyses, etc.
In the end, we were able to close the production loop and this helped us to realise our goals of enforcing new environmental standards. We are a preferred supplier to major transport carriers and petrol station chains in Bulgaria and Balkan countries. We are DACIA's supplier for the initial incorporation of the AdBlue® product. Working for initial incorporation is the highest recognition of quality in our industry.
What is the future of this product and why is it important for the automotive industry?
AdBlue® ensures that less harmful emissions are emitted from the operation of internal combustion engines. A similar product is used in the various filtration systems of heavy industries, also to reduce harmful emissions. By 2035, the Green Deal must be in place and Europe must ensure zero emissions.
Until then, AdBlue® is practically the only technical solution to neutralise harmful emissions in diesel engines. Even petrol engines are already being discussed to have similar systems. We are a business that tries not only to keep the air clean, but to contribute to the development of society and technology in a better green perspective for future generations.
Where is the key to success?
We don't unilaterally view our business as manufacturing and selling a product, we offer a fast, quality and environmentally conscious service, being responsible to every consumer and customer, for every litre of our licensed product sold.
What is your mission as President of the Bulgarian Association of AdBlue® Manufacturers and Importers (BAMIA)?
Three companies (Tsaki, Prista Oil Holdings, AIBO-C Ltd.) founded an association of manufacturers and importers of AdBlue®. We united the largest producers of the product in Bulgaria.
The incessant dynamics, stress, congestion, pollution and the ever-rushing traffic - this is what made us ambitious to look for a technological solution for the urban environment with vehicles that can serve us without harming the ecological balance. The main objective of the association is to inform the public about the benefits of environmentally ensuring products. The association was established so that we can provide our accumulated experience and professional knowledge to the government institutions that legislate and control transparent rules in the sector. In Bulgaria and the Balkans there are problems such as the use of unlicensed products OR the refusal to use products to reduce harmful emissions. This requires a serious effort to be able to initiate legal changes to protect nature and counteract those producing imitation "water solutions".
How do you fit in as a manager in the "male" world of automotive goods?
There has long been no separation of men and women in business. There are the bold and the indecisive, the emotionally intelligent and the conservative, the seekers of new knowledge and the inquisitive. There are probably qualities I'm missing, but if you have the right combination of these qualities, it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman. You are successful! I think the most valuable quality in me I developed at the Sofia Mathematical High School, where I learned to think logically. Logic, adaptability and quick decision-making was key for me to fit into the so-called "male" world.
